Sharazad Boutique Hotel is a stylish six bedroom beach house situated in the charming village of Jambiani on Zanzibar’s South East Coast.

It is possible to book the villa by room only, making it difficult sometimes to rent it for exclusive use.
Sharazad Boutique Hotel and Villa is located directly on a white sandy beach, close to Jambiani village. It was completely renovated into a comfortable holiday home in 2015, and retains it’s original Swahili features and authentic atmosphere.
Sharazad consists of a tastefully furnished, 6-bedroom villa with exclusive private plunge pool and private beach garden facing the ocean, as well as 3 bungalows (all double-storey, with 2 bedrooms each). Thus, the whole property can accommodate up to 30 guests, if required!
A beach restaurant, bar and swimming pool (open to the public) complete the property, and the whole area is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, a powdery white beach, and the amazing Indian Ocean.
Sharazad’s Ocean View Villa features 3 sea view rooms, 2 garden view rooms and 1 room facing the courtyard.
All rooms are stylish and spacious, with en-suite bathrooms.
The 3 sea view rooms have private verandas, and the 2 garden view rooms have their own back patio.
The original layout of this riad-style beach house – with a swimming pool and dining area in the central courtyard – guarantees privacy and comfort, and the villa is separated from the 3 bungalows and restaurant area by it’s own private garden and a natural wooden fence.
The covered area of the villa is about 350 sqm in size, and can sleep 12 people (+ 2 extra beds and a baby cot, if required).
The villa accommodation can be reserved as individual en-suite bedrooms, or as a six-bedroom private villa.
Three charming, double-storey bungalows reflect the same high standard in comfort, decor and amenities as Sharazad’s original beach villa. Some have garden views whilst some have ocean views in the distance.
All 6 units have en-suite bathrooms and a private veranda with table and chairs. They’re surrounded by lush vegetation, with the warm Indian Ocean just a few steps away…
All rooms (both in the villa and the bungalows) offer the following amenities:

Situated right on the beach overlooking the Indian Ocean and shaded by a Bedouin tent, ‘The Deck’ restaurant offers local specialties and a genuine fusion style cuisine with à la carte menu.
A delicious meal can also be enjoyed at the only Vietnamese restaurant in Zanzibar… next door at Sharazad Oasis.
Sharazad loves to create special evenings and will be happy to organize intimate candlelight dinners by the pool or on the beach for you.
Vegetarian options and kids’ menu are available, and special meals can be arranged with 24h notice.
Relax at the beach bar next to the swimming pool, overlooking the blue ocean, where you can sip exotic cocktails, refreshing drinks, homemade tropical fruit juices and local and Italian coffees at any time during the day.
Free Wi-Fi is also available at the beach bar, restaurant and swimming pool area.
As an eco-friendly choice, all bedrooms and bathrooms at Sharazad Villa have ceiling fans rather than air-conditioning systems. Large windows provide cross-ventilation and spacious mosquito nets ensure cool, comfortable nights.
Solar panels, LED lights, a desalination plant and waste recycling are implemented throughout the Sharazad property to protect the environment and support the fragile ecosystem and existing vegetation of the area.
The original Sharazad Villa was built in 2003, and was the first private villa along the pristine Jambiani coastline.
Sharazad Villa was built in the style of a Riad, with a central plunge pool and veranda covered by a traditional makuti (palm leaf) roof. It was the perfect holiday home in which to live a simple but ideal lifestyle… and the owners loved it so much that they got married on the beach in front of the villa, followed by a lively yet relaxed reception party on the patio!
Sharazad is named after a legendary queen and the storyteller of One Thousand and One Nights. The name has Persian origins, and means ‘she whose land is free’… and ‘beautiful, wise and free woman’.
Sharazad Oasis was opened in August 2020, and is right next door to Sharazad Boutique Hotel. Between the 2 sister properties, there are 2 hectares of tropical green gardens and 230 meters of beautiful beach.
